Technical Training Manager

Here at Cooper Parry, we have a new opportunity for a Technical Training Manager to join our Risk & Technical Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and delivering technical training to the audit department linking in with the Risk & Compliance team on ICAEW, ECR Professional & Mercia updates to ensure technical elements are being taught in accordance with guidelines.
  •  Regularly identify technical training needs through discussion with the technical director, audit compliance partner and team lead.
  • Responsible for issuing regular updates to the team (linking in with technical director and specialist leads) – ensuring the team are always technically up to date at all times and aware of emerging issues.
  • Understand our current offering, reviewing content & developing further. Using your expertise, you will establish the most effective methods for delivering training
  • Co-ordinate and identify training needs for both the Cooper Parry team
  • Link with the People Team around the maintenance of ICAEW student training records and assisting trainees with the maintenance of online training records.
  • Understand where we can utilise technology to track and deliver training. Work with the head of learning in the people team to utilise current training resources.
  • Develop a technical induction to audit so all new starters receive the same technical training (covering the “how” along with ethical and AML introductions)
  • Working directly with the early careers team to review & improve our graduate and apprenticeship programme.

What you’ll need….

  • Experience in ISAs, FRC’s Ethical Standard, UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Experience in designing training courses
  • Experience in delivering training courses
  • Desire to keep yourself up to date technically and share knowledge
  • Ability to flex style from trainees through to experienced RIs and Partners / Directors
  • Some commercial experience and can combine quality and technical requirements with the commercial elements of running an audit team
  • ACA or ACCA qualified with several years’ post qualification experience ideally with audit background
